My experience with yoga!

Something that I've always wanted to try, but never really got around to doing, is going to a yoga class. I've either been to busy, or broke! (lol!) But just recently I saw a local yoga place on my way home from school and decided to go and and check things out. I got some info and was determined to try it out!
This past tuesday my friend Emma {} and I went to the local yoga place that I had passed. It wasn't Emma's first time going to a yoga class, but it was mine, and I have to say.. I totally loved it!
I was so relaxed that I started forgetting my left, and right's (whoops!). We did some basic moves, and If there's one thing I learnt from that class, it's that I haven't been breathing properly!! How is that possible? Well it's common knowledge that when you breath in, your stomach should expand, right? Well before this class I had apparently been sucking it all in, and not letting it reach my belly? I have no clue how that makes sense but I do know, half way through the breathing parts I started getting the hang of this whole big-belly-breathing thing again! And I feel like It has helped my body in many ways! It's amazing how one little thing can change you!
After the class I was so relaxed, and felt so good about myself. It was an amazing experience! Something I will defiantly do again sometime soon!

Have you went to a yoga class before?
Tell me about your experience/s below!

Once upon a couple weeks ago... I decided I wanted a little turtle! A little one that wont grow to be the size of a cat, but will stay little! I bugged my mom many times, then eventually gave up. I tried to keep the dream of having a little turtle out of my head. Then I was at my uncles house, when my mom called, and told me she had a surprise. I wasn't that excited because I was thinking it would just be a package of Jelly Belly's or something little like that. After bugging her enough, she told me she had gotten me a Southern Painted Turtle!

Some cute things about my little Southern Painted Turtle:
He is a he.
I named him Cedric after Robert Pattinson in the Harry Potter movie.
He has a peace sign on his belly.
He loves playing in his "water fountain".
He also loves playing with his floating ball.
He loves tanning on his rock.
He sleeps in fake weeds.
He is absolutely adorable!

I hope you all had a good Monday!

The Important Things In Life...

Sometimes we lose sight of the important things in life. I've found myself doing this lately, I've been getting frustrated because I've been saving for a new laptop sense before Christmas, and I'm just sick and tired of not being able to spend my money! I kept thinking to myself, 'I would do ANYTHING to get a job! If I had a job I could get that laptop in no time! Then I would have money for other things after!!' But in doing all of that thinking, and wishing I've forgotten something really important. I've forgotten that I have an amazing life! I should be happy that I have a laptop already, whether it's got a couple dents, and cracks or not, I should cherish that I'm privlaged enough to have it. Have it in my home. Where my family who loves me is. Where there is heat. Where there is food. Where no matter how bad I feel I can find comfort.

I've always known that I'm lucky to have what I have, but every once in a while I think we all need a little reminder. I've had two strong reminders within the last month and a half. Both reminders have been from a blogger whos blog I visit faithfully at least twice a week. Her name is Sarah, she has an amazing hair blog {} as well as her own personal blog {}. Around a month and a half ago Sarah made this post - . It was a long, thoughtfully written post that was obviously written from her heart about a young, beautiful girl named Maddie, who was only five years of age and diagnosed with having a brain tumour called DIPG. Sarah goes on to tell about how Maddie was born after many years of her parents trying to conceive, but failing and how their little miracle baby was given only 6 months to live.

Regretfully, just yesterday, only a month and a few days after the original post made by Sarah, she had to make another one {} informing her readers that Maddie had passed away. It seems so wrong that a little girl, who had a whole life ahead of her passed away at the delicate age of only five. I'm still trying to recover from the thought of this, knowing that I have little cousins around her age. I can't even begin to imagine how her family is feeling right now. If you would like to donate, or read more about Maddie's story I encourage you to go to-

My thoughts and prayers are with Maddie's friends and Family.

Please go and tell all the people you care about that you love them... if not for yourself, do it for Maddie.

Spring 2011 Fashion Trends

It's so gross, and grey outside today where I live, I thought a little spring fashion inspiration was a good idea! So let's just get to the good stuff! These are some trends I think we'll be seeing everywhere this spring!
Spring 2011~ Spring Florals
I love florals! anything with a flowery print on it makes me smile! I have a belief that is you're wearing flowers, there is no way that you can't be smiling! :)

Spring 2011~Just Stripes!

Spring 2011~Just Stripes! by DntBlink featuring a nautical dress

Some people say that strips make you appear thinner, but I just love the thought of a navy, and white stripped piece of clothing, it just seems nautical, and beachy!

Spring 2011~ Lace! Lace! Lace!

There is no way to feel any more feminine than being covered in lace! There are so many ways you can wear lace. You can go classy, cute, or even sexy depending on the look you're going for!

Spring 2011~Maxi Drsses

I still haven't mastered wearing the maxi dress. I do have a black one, but I have to say, I always feel like I'm too dressed up! So this spring I'm making a promise to myself to try and rock this trend and make it work!!!
What trends do you think we'll see everywhere?! Comment below!
Hope You're all having a wonderful march break!!

I Could Just Die!: The big fix

The days between my last post and this one have been filled with coughing, blowing my nose, and feeling like a big bag of poop! But you know what the worst part of that is? The constantly blowing my nose part! Nothing makes you feel worse about going to work, or school than having a peeling, red, and dry, nose! I tried using night time moisturizers on my nose all through the day, but it would just sting like I was taking a lit match and placing the flame all around my nose, then it would just make my nose have to run even more!
Then my Avon order came in this past Thursday, and I remembered that I had ordered something called "the big fix" from the mark. catalogue! It was only $12, it resembles a fatter, taller version of a lip chap. You can use it for pretty much everything though! Dry feet. Dry elbows. Dry lips. Eyebrows that just wont stay in place. And my favourite~ DRY PATCHES, INCLUDING DRY NOSES!!!!
{Signature represents that Ashley Greene (of Twilight) considers it one of her Fav. mark. Products!}

I tried this on my nose as soon as I got it! There was no sting! Also, I think it actually brought down the runny nose factor!! Within 5 minutes my nose was softer, not as chapped, and I was in no pain! This stick helped me so much! and I can't wait to use it for so many other things!

The only down side to this stick is the smell. I kind of like the smell, but in the reviews of this product on the mark. site some people complained that the smell totally ruined it. I personally think the smell goes away after a few minutes, so the smell is no big deal in my opinion, as long as it works!

The best part of this product though, has to be how it's made. This is only one of some body products that mark. sells that are make with "fair trade certified ingredients" here is a better explanation of what that means, straight from the mark. website...

"In developing countries, it's common practice for farmers to be paid less than a living wage and for children to be forced into farm jobs in order to help feed their families. Each purchase from the mark. body care collection with Fair Trade Certified™ ingredients helps promote a different kind of farming, where fair labour conditions are mandated and farmers are not only empowered but are also given the support to help lift themselves out of poverty.

By choosing this Fair Trade Certified™ product, you are directly supporting a better life for farming families through fair prices, direct trade, community development, and enviromental stewardship."
I just love everything about this product! If you would like to try it, and you live in the Ottawa area, contact me (e-mail me at ) and I'll make it happen!
Hope you all have a relaxing Sunday!
