Baked Potato Soup

It hasn't really been cold around here, but I always enjoy soup! I love making this soup so much! It may just be my favourite! So here it is for you to enjoy in your own kitchen!
~Potato Soup~

What you'll need :
~ 6 large potatoes
~ 3 tablespoons of butter {*unsalted}
~ 1 1/2 cups of finely diced onion
~3 cloves of garlic, minced
~ 1/2 cup of celery, diced
~ 3 tablespoons of flour
~ 2 cups of chicken stock {*low sodium}
~ 4 cups of milk {*1%}

Optional toppings:
~2 bacon strips, cooked and crumbled
~ 3 tablespoons of scallion's, chopped
~ 1 cup of shredded cheese

{* To help keep away that junk in your trunk ;)}

Step by Step:

~Peel potatoes.

~Cut into 1 inch cubes {or smaller, depending on your own preference}.

~Heat butter or margarine over medium, in a large sauce pan until it's melted and frothy.

~Chop onions finely, add into sauce pan, and cook for two minutes.

~Add Chopped celery, and garlic into sauce pan and continue cooking for 3 minutes, stirring every time you get a free second!

{lower the heat slightly so the vegetables don't brown, like my'n did!}

~Add the flour to the sauce pan and stir with a WOODEN SPOON, cook for 2 minutes. {Make sure to scrape the spoon around the edges and on the bottom of the sauce pan}

~Whisk in the stock SLOWLY, until it's all in there.

~Add your chopped potatoes.

~SLOWLY add the milk.

~Cook for 20 minutes over medium to low heat {do not boil!}

~Stir every so often.

~While your soup is cooking shred yo' cheese {hello new saying!! "shred yo' cheese"}

{If you're the type of person who prefers a smoother soup, throw it into a blender and puree it!}

~Sprinkle yo' cheese over yo' soup, and serve with a slice of my mom's dill bread! {Recipe coming soon!}

Exam Week!

Can I just say exams stress me out so much! I have been studying my heart out for the past week, and today after my first exam I was literally shaking... I have two more left to go; french and math! So technically I should be studying right now, but I have done so much, I need a break!!

The best kind of break for me right now (considering I've been saving my money for the past three or four months!!) is to do a little fake online shopping! {aka scouting online for things I would love to have!} And while doing this, I came across Lauren Conrad's line again! Lauren Conrad is one of my idol's, so of course I swoon over her line every time I see it! with all of the ruffles, pleats, etc. It's too adorable for words! If only there was a Kohl's on Canada!

So here are some of my favourite things that I found!

You Help Me Sur-Five...

This week has been very long, and very drama filled... It's only the first week back to School and I'm just amazed at how dramatic high school can be. It amazes me how one day you can trust someone, and the next day they can be your enemy. Sometimes I wonder what it would be like to be a guy...would it be easier? Would there be less drama? Either way I was born a girl and a girl is what I'll be! So now onto the girly stuff that has kept me sane this past week!

It is so nice to take a good hour and just spend it by yourself cuddled up with a magazine and a hot chocolate, sans cell phone, and sans laptop.
On my last post I had my goals that I had left to complete, {yes I know I did alter a couple goals from the original ones} And early this morning I completed one of those goals! I finished a 500 piece puzzle! I have the 1000 piece one sitting in my closet, but I'm waiting to gain more patients before I get started on it!
I just started watching The next Great Baker this week! I PVR'd all of the episodes and I. Am. In. Love! I was in love with Buddy's original show Cake Boss, but this is like the appretince combined with Cake Boss which is so awesome I can't even explain it! So guess what my dream career of the week is?! Being a cake decorator!! So you may see some cakes up here soon!

Another one of my goals was to finish the Harry Potter series! I read the first two books and part of the third almost a year ago, and yesterday I started the third book again! Right now I have around 100 pages left to read in the third book! I forgot how much I loved these books, and I don't know why I ever stopped reading them!

Let's just say I left the best for last..... I. need. This. Necklace!! I've never really been a big fan of BCBG but when I saw Woo's post of all of the charm necklaces that BCBG has came out with I checked their website and found this lovely!! I may just have to buy myself this for my birthday next month ;)

Hope you all are having a relaxing weekend!

My Wish List...

As I sit here I see snow falling out my window...It's beautiful, I may just go for a walk today....if I didn't have a gym assignment, and an english video due this coming Monday....yea, that's right... I am a procrastinator.....well let's just head on over to my last blog post (that I might add was less than a week ago! Props for me!) and add "Stop being a procrastinator" to my list of New Years Resolutions that will not come true! And while we're at it, I mise well add "stop slouching so much" too!

But for now let's focus on just 25 days from now.....can you guess what's going to happen in JUST TWENTY FIVE DAYS FROM NOW?!?!?!......"You're going to stop saying "that's what she/he said""......NO WAY!!!......... "You're going to go back to New York City?!?".......Pfffft, I wish!......."YOU'RE GOING TO BE 15 MAKING YOU BARELY 16 WHICH MEANS THAT YOU STILL CAN'T DRIVE?!?!?!"................DING DING DING WE HAVE A WINNER!!!!!!

That's right, I am going to be FIFTEEN! But wait, isn't that half way to 30?!!?! *looks in mirror* OH MY GOODNESS!!!!! MOM I'M GETTING WRINKLES!!!!!!! "Those are smile lines Breanne, relax, and go clean the cat litter"

So maybe wrinkle cream won't be on my Birthday Wishlist just yet...but here are some things that are....

Ever sense seeing Sarah Jessica Parker's gold necklace with her name on it in Sex and the City I've wanted one. But to be honest, I'm not that big on gold jewellery, so I found a silver one to suit my fancy!

Some people may say that Lauren Conrad is a bad writer, and some may say that she has someone writing it for her, but personally I love Lauren Conrad, she is basically my idol! So no matter what anyone says, I love her, and her books!

I actually got her Style book for Christmas, but I haven't finished it just yet. I'm trying to make it last as long as I can! But when the sad day comes that I do finish it, I will post a review up here on it!

Breanne fact~ I sell Avon and Mark. So if you're in the Ottawa area, shoot me an e-mail, and I'll shoot you a catalogue, or maybe eventually I'll start up my own online store!

To the point~ I Got my latest Mark. Catalogue recently and they had a scratch and sniff of this semi-new perfume, and I love it!! And at only $25 it's also so reasonable!

Either you'll hate these, or love them, I love them! They look so comfy! They're like knock-off Birkenstocks only prettier!
So that's my Birthday wish list!
Hope you all are having a wonderful Friday!!

A New Year, A New Start..

It's a new year, and I'm hoping It will result in a more organized me! I am so sorry to you all (whoever you are, or if there even is a "you") I have been so overwhelmed with school, and just life in general! But I'm hoping that that can all start changing now!!!

So lets start with some New Years Resolutions that will not come true!
{I'm attempting to use reverse-psychology on myself....let's see if it works}

1. Blog, Blog, Blog!! I started this blog so that I could document my memories in time, so that I could look back on these years that are going by so quickly, but alas, I haven't blogged sense Halloween, {can you say FAIL?}

2. Make more goals. Before high school, I was this girl who had so many dreams, and goals, and now, my only goals are making it through the school week, and finishing assignments.

3. Be more organized. This can help #1 out a lot! I'm going to start programming everything into my phone considering it is glued to my hand constantly!

I hope you all have a great New Years

And if you have any resolutions feel free to post them below! I would love to hear them!
